Back To School 2012

It's that time of year again and living in a state that does school year around, it seemed school was starting every week for the last two months. But finally it was our turn for back to school. And personally? I like having school start in September after Labor Day, it makes it so much more official.

This year Spencer is in the three year old preschool class and is having lunch at school. This works out well for two reasons...one being I have an extra hour to run errands and I also have two less meals to worry about every week. Yay!

I know for some, school can be very stressful and finding the perfect school or the most popular school can have some parents lose sleep for weeks...not us. We really just wanted a place where we felt comfortable and that had space. I am lucky to have a child that rolls with the punches and was super excited about being able to go to school. I think he is a lot like his momma...who doesn't mind change.

Preschool 2012

The only person that was not so happy about school? Teagan...she bawled her pretty little eyes out at having to leave her big brother behind. I think she would have happily stayed with him and not even noticed I was gone. It is amazing to see their relationship as siblings continue to grow each day. I hope they will always be each others best friend.

I'd tell you what Spencer did his first day...but getting anything out of him is like pulling teeth. I need to get more creative with my questions so that he has to say more than no or yes. But I am happy to say he did eat most of the lunch I packed which made me feel better about him having lunch at school. Hopefully that will last the whole year.

How about you? How did your kids do this new school year? Anyone shed tears? I think my tears are holding back until Kindergarten...when I will probably be the inconsolable mother in the parking lot.

  1. Gosh they have gotten so big! My baby cries periodically when I drop her brother off. I think she thinks I am leaving him somewhere!

    1. I think it's so cute that they think so much of their siblings...until they won't share! ;-)

  2. it's still hard to get information out of my boys about their school day. when we ask about their day, the common answer is "i'll tell you later" or "nothing". braedyn is just now starting to give us insight into his day now that he's in kindergarten. so our joke was that anytime ben and i were having a conversation and we would get interrupted by the boys, we just ask them how their day was and they go running. lmao.

  3. Glad to hear he had a good first day! Betting I'll get at least somewhat emotional when that time rolls around. :)

    1. I thought I would be more emotional...but I think the key for me is to not think too much about it! Because if I do? Total waterworks!

  4. Hope they had a great first day. I think JJ is going to have fit not having Moo here to play with him all day when she starts. They're stuck to each other like glue.

    1. It is surprising how much they adore each other when they realize they can't do everything together!
