15 Months

This week Spence had his 15 month check up and I am happy to report, all is well. He is pretty much trucking right along in height and weight, 27 pounds and 32 inches. The doctor said he was in the 80th percentile for both weight and height. He also told me because he is, I could stop worrying about my picky eater. I guess as long as he is packing on the weight, I am doing something right.

In the last 3 weeks the boy has learned to climb, which is quite scary and also reminds me that he is growing up and quite fast. Just today he realized if he pushed one toy against the arm of the couch he could get on the couch. What was not amusing was that when he got there he wanted to touch the large mirror on the wall. Also not amusing? Watching him get down the way he got up and bust his hiney. He now does a pretend cry for attention when he falls or bumps himself on something...and then stops when he realizes I am not running to his side. Did I mention the boy was growing up??

He's also started trying to tell us what he wants without screaming and yelling. Well...most of the time. I think he enjoys screaming and yelling because when he does it, he looks at me and waits for a reaction. Today he pointed to the fridge and I opened the door and asked him what he wanted. After pointing to the cheese I pulled it out, asked him if he wanted cheese and he smiled and nodded yes. He also can tell me no if I offer him the wrong item. I don't look forward to the day he decides everything we ask is no.

And finally an update on his toddler bed. Yes, he still likes it and he knows exactly what it is for...as he will get in it when we play in his room and tell me night-night. I especially loves when he gets in the bed with a book and sits there looking at pictures. We have had no episodes like we had with the crib and I think it is because he knows he isn't confined and we are in the next room. Thank goodness!

Last week we went on a boat ride, here are some pics from the trip:
