Roll, baby, roll

So today Spencer has reached a major milestone...he has learned to roll from his back to his belly! He looks so proud of himself when he does it as he giggles and smiles widely at us. Of course it could be because we are whooping and hollering every time he does it! He also rolled from his belly onto his back, but I think that was more on accident than anything else!

So this now means we can't leave him alone on anything he can fall off of...even if we are a mere foot or seconds away. Hubby thinks I'm being too overprotective, but I know babies move fast and while our reactions will be quick, they may not be quick enough! I'm not over thinking this, am I seasoned momma's? Chime in with your wisdom, please!

He's also realized he can babble and is slowly spending more time yelling out nonsensical words, which is adorable. He enjoys when I sing to him and can't wait for the day he can sing along with me.

  1. Gotta agree with you on this Melisa, cause babies can do things quick. He gets prettier everyday. Can't wait to see him roll over and hear him laughing and talking. Love granny kaki

  2. Oh how I remember the first time I found out my baby could roll over. He had NEVER done it before, I was at home sick, he was laying in bed with me. I got up to use the restroom and BAM!!!! He rolled off the middle of the bed. LOL

    Good times.

  3. There's no such thing as being too overprotective when it comes to your baby. Once they get mobile, whether it rolling, scooting, creeping or crawling, you have to take EVERY precaution possible!

Aside from all that blah blah blah, he's a cutie! Congrats on rolling, Spencer! Now if only Mommy would get out that camcorder and post some video footage (hint, hint).

  4. Ok... here's my Mommy .02... YES.. you cannot be too careful... but you can also make yourself nuts. Babies get their cues from you, and if you're hyper-sensitive and worried, they pick up on that.

You're such a great mommy... and he is ONE amazingly cute little boy!!!
